About this experience

The head temple of the Tendai sect, founded by Dengyo Daishi Saicho (Great Teaching Master Saicho).<br>As a temple that prays for world peace and the peace of the people, and as a national treasure training center for human resource development, it has produced high priests of each sect of Japanese Buddhism, and is regarded as the mother mountain of Japanese Buddhism. It is also listed as world heritage.<br>In the Konpon Chudo Hall of the Sohondo (great hall), Saicho's "immortal lamp" shines, conveying Saicho's teaching of "lighting up a corner" to the present day.<br><br>Mt. Hiei is located on the border of Kyoto and Shiga prefectures, and is a place of scenic beauty where you can see Lake Biwa on the east, the largest lake in Japan, and the streets of ancient Kyoto to the west.
