We visited this site as part of bus tour. It has a stunning view of Mount Fuji on a clear day. Getting to the view is a challenging but doable climb. You can use the stairs or a s-curved roadway. Both can wind you. The reward is your photos, which will definitely become your souvenir of the climb.

Mount Fuji and the area around it is beautiful, this is a really nice spot to take pictures. You will need to climb a lot of stairs but the view is amazing even though when I went there September 2025, it was cloudy. The website shows that it would be sunny, so beware, the website isn't always right XD Even though the climb is very tiring, it was worth it! Hopefully I can comeback one day ans see Mount Fuji when it's clear🤞

Arakurayama Sengen Park is a very iconic photo spot in Japan. This is the place where you usually see Mount Fuji with a pagoda beside it (the famous Chureito Pagoda view). Seeing it in real life is really beautiful. The photo spot area is quite crowded, because many people want the same picture. But once you move away from that main spot, the rest of the park is not too crowded and more enjoyable. Because the park is located on a higher place, you can also see a city view below, which is quite nice and gives different perspective, not only Fuji. If you want that classic Mount Fuji photo, this place is worth the effort. Just bring patience and comfortable shoes, the view at the top is worth it.

Visited in autumn and loved it. From Shimoyoshida Station, it’s about a 10 minute walk to the park, then a climb up the 450 steps to the Chureito Pagoda. It’s a bit of a workout, but the fiery red autumn colours along the way are amazing. At the top, the view is stunning. If you’re lucky, Mount Fuji will be perfectly visible behind the pagoda but even on cloudy days, the scenery is still absolutely worth it. There’s also a side road that takes you nearer to the top if you prefer an easier route.

Arakurayama Sengen Park Arakurayama Sengen Park is easily one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Japan. The climb of nearly 400 steps feels totally worth it the moment you see the iconic Chureito Pagoda framed perfectly against Mount Fuji. The view looks straight out of a postcard — peaceful, majestic, and unforgettable. The park is calm in the early mornings, but gets crowded during cherry blossom season, and for good reason. When the sakura trees bloom, the combination of pink blossoms, red pagoda, and Fuji-san in the background is pure magic. Even in other seasons, the scenery is stunning with clear views and beautiful greenery. It’s free to enter, well-maintained, and easy to reach from Shimoyoshida Station. Whether you love photography, nature, or just want a classic “Japan moment”, this place is a must-visit. The climb is a little workout, but the view at the top is one of the most rewarding in the country.
