About this experience

Night Safari opens its gates at 19:00, inviting you into a world where animals are most active under moonlit skies. Over 1,000 creatures from 120 species inhabit this nocturnal wildlife park, from one-horned Indian rhinos to big cats that you can watch during feeding times. The Thumbuakar tribal performers welcome you with fire performances as you begin your evening adventure.

You'll journey through 6 geographical regions on open-sided trams, then continue on foot along four walking trails including the East Lodge Trail where you can hand-feed Indian rhinos for an additional $10 per food portion. Live presentations showcase animal talents throughout the evening, while keeper talks offer insights into the park's residents. The experience runs until 23:30, giving you over four hours to explore at your own pace.

What to expect

Your visit begins at 19:00 with the Thumbuakar fire performance welcoming you into the park. You'll board an open-sided tram that travels through 6 geographical regions, offering views of nocturnal animals in naturalistic habitats. Tram options include multi-lingual commentary and priority boarding depending on your ticket type. Throughout the evening, you can attend live animal presentations and keeper talks that demonstrate the animals' natural behaviors and feeding habits.

After the tram journey, you're free to explore four walking trails at your own pace, including the East Lodge Trail where you can hand-feed Indian rhinos. Weekend visitors can watch big cats devour their meals during feeding time. Optional dining experiences include Asian and Indian buffet dinners at the Courtyard. The park remains open until 23:30, allowing you to spend the evening moving between tram rides, walking trails, and animal encounters as you choose.

We visited the Night Safari at the earliest 7:15 pm tram slot and had mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, arriving at sunset allowed us to see some animals while there was still ambient light, which helped tremendously. However, once it became fully dark, visibility was quite limited. We understand and respect that the lighting is intentionally kept very dim to protect the animals, but in practice it was often difficult to distinguish animals from their surroundings. At times, we simply couldn’t see what we were supposed to be looking at. A more significant issue for us was the terrain. The walking trails are quite sloped in sections. We use a manual wheelchair, and controlling it downhill in the humid conditions proved challenging and, at one point, unsafe. The paths are technically accessible, but the gradients combined with diminished nighttime visibility made navigation difficult. Visitors using wheelchairs (especially without powered assistance) should be aware that once you begin certain trails, exiting early may require doubling back. We appreciate the conservation focus and the unique concept, but for visitors with mobility limitations, this experience may be more physically demanding than expected. If visibility is important to you, consider an earlier time slot so you can take advantage of remaining daylight.

The Night Safari experience in Singapore was truly amazing and unique. We lined up for the 7:15 PM slot, and everything was very well organized from the start. The boarding process was smooth, with the buggy tram carts already lined up, making entry quick and hassle-free. As the journey began, clear and accurate information was provided throughout the ride. The narration was engaging and helped us learn about different animals spotted during the safari, including the white tiger, bull elephant, bear, and many others. The facts were shared in real time as we passed each habitat, which made the experience both informative and exciting. The entire ride was smooth, comfortable, and different from a typical zoo visit, giving a real nighttime wildlife experience. It took around 30–35 minutes to complete. Appreciation to the entire team for managing everything so efficiently and ensuring a seamless experience. Suggestion: It is highly recommended to pre-book the tickets and select your time slot in advance to avoid any last-minute delays or crowd-related issues.

This place worth a visit at least once in a lifetime. I, myself — who occasionaly went to Indonesia's forests and camped inside — could quite enjoy this place. Hopefully the maintenance and animal care are as good as I expected. The queue was pretty long but took quiet fast in time. The tram tour was pretty nice also, guided and narrated by the staffs. For foreigners, I think it's better to buy the tickets in advance.

So awesome. We went on an extremely busy day unfortunately, but the park and animals themselves were good. The facilities are really nice, and selection of animals was good, and we were able to see most of the animals. As one should expect, some of the animals were hiding or sleeping so you couldn't see all of them, but thats not a problem with the park/management. I recommend going as early as possible so you can take your time walking around the park, then taking the last tram rides for the day. I would recommend dressing for hot weather. I was in shorts and tshirt and I was still sweating. There is a water cooler for bottles in the park so you can bring your own bottle.

Best time to come last slot on a monday felt like a private experience and all the animals are more active because they're fed between 8-9:30 so they're more energetic. After 11:30 is when they tended to be asleep so we only missed out on 3-4. We did all the trails and the amphitheatre in 2.5 hours. Skipped the tram as was told its harder to see things as its a continuous one and no stops.
