It works well for first-time visitors to the US who want an authentic big-city experience without the sensory overload of New York, for architecture and design fans, for foodies willing to eat somewhere with sawdust on the floor, and for families — the Museum Campus alone can fill three days. It's less suited to travelers chasing beaches or year-round sunshine; plan around the weather, not against it.
