What to expect
"Youyou Bass" is the local language of the ethnic minorities in Alishan, representing the four seasons of wealth, inner wealth and a heart of joy, kindness, sharing and peace. Youyou Bass is located in the tea sea fairyland at an altitude of 1300 meters in Ali, overlooking the magnificent scenery of Yushan and Rainbow Canyon. Youyou Bath has a tea room, a coffee factory, a snack restaurant, a performance venue, and a handicraft center. Upon entering the park, the elders of the tribe led the warriors to hold a blessing welcome ceremony. The elders sang ancient tunes with bagpipes to bless the guests entering the park. Visitors who love the fragrance of tea can go to the tea store to taste the Alishan Mountain Tea brewed by Alishan girls. Or go to the "Maudano Theater" to watch the Orion Choir perform traditional songs and dances.

Learnt about the Tsou tribe, beautiful tea plantation. Performance included cultural dance and singing. Spent around 2-2.5h there.

Really good indigent Taiwanese tribe experience. The dancing and singing is just amazing! Would visit again if I didn't have so much else to see in Taiwan.

Even though there is an entrance fee, but it's worth a visit when you are in Alishan. It's a very scenic place with many photo spots. You can walk among the fields of tea plantations and have an up close experience. The "show" is also a highlight which shouldn't be missed. I don't usually like those cultural shows, but this one was good, the host/narrator did a very good job. There's local produces and souvenir available for purchase, not hard selling at all, but I did bought a few to support the locals. There are also coffee house in the park, but we didn't try as there wasn't enough time.

Bought tickets by app (NT$200) by our tour guide. beautiful view from the theatre. Before the show, they let us sample their products. No obligation to buy. Good narration!

A moderately sized park which probably can be covered by foot under an hour, the rest of the time dedicated to the various attractions within - a performance theatre, coffee and mochi cafe, tea tasting house, dining area, gift store and various camera friendly spots. Entrance ticket is about NTD300 per pax, a friendly and humorous guide will provide an overview of the park near the entrance before letting you explore on your own. There is a performance (songs and dance) scheduled at 1130H - rather entertaining and refreshing. The tea house allows free tasting of various types of in-house alishan tea, with detailed description about each's preparation methods and properties. Various photo-taking spots with interesting architecture/structures amidst the sakura and tea plantation backdrop. Overall a pleasant experience! 😊
