Taormina: Etna Wine Tasting Half-Day Guided Tour

This half-day guided tour takes you from Taormina through the villages of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa, with Mount Etna rising over the Catania coastline the entire way. It's a scenic drive that gives you a proper look at the volcano's slopes before you arrive at a working winery where the region's wine is actually made.

At the winery, a guide walks you through the production process, from grape to bottle, and explains how Etna's volcanic soil shapes the character of the wine grown on it. You'll taste four different wines paired with a Sicilian spread of preserved vegetables, local cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, bread, dried tomatoes and olive oil.

The tour returns to Taormina in the late afternoon, giving you a half-day out that combines Etna's landscape with a hands-on introduction to Sicilian winemaking.

The tour departs from Taormina and heads along the Catania coast, passing through the villages of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa before climbing toward Mount Etna's slopes.
