About this experience

Scenic World sits on the edge of the Jamison Valley in Katoomba, right in the heart of the Blue Mountains, and this pass covers all four of its signature attractions in a single pre-approved circuit. You'll ride the Scenic Skyway 270 metres above the rainforest canopy, with views over Katoomba Falls, the Three Sisters and Mt Solitary opening up as you glide between the cliff tops. From there, the Scenic Railway takes you down the steepest incline railway in the world into the valley floor.

Once you're down among the trees, the Scenic Walkway gives you a 10-minute stretch of elevated boardwalk through ancient rainforest before the Scenic Cableway carries you back up the escarpment, offering yet another angle on the Three Sisters rock formation on the way. The whole circuit runs just over an hour, leaving time afterwards to grab a coffee at the café or browse the gift shop before heading off to explore more of the Blue Mountains.

This is one of the more efficient ways to see the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains landscape without committing to a full day of bushwalking, combining aerial views, a rainforest walk and a genuinely dramatic rail descent into a single ticket.

What to expect

Your visit starts on the Scenic Skyway, a cable car that crosses high above the Jamison Valley with views over Katoomba Falls, Mt Solitary and the Three Sisters. From here you move to the Scenic Railway, which drops you down the steep incline into the valley floor and straight into the rainforest below.

At the bottom, the Scenic Walkway gives you a 10-minute walk along elevated boardwalks through the forest, with a chance to spot native plants and wildlife along the way. To finish, the Scenic Cableway carries you back up to the clifftop, giving you one more look at the Three Sisters from a different vantage point. The full circuit takes around one hour 15 minutes, after which you're free to relax at the café or gift shop before continuing on into the rest of the Blue Mountains.

Things to note

  • Wear comfortable, flat walking shoes as the Scenic Walkway section is on foot through the forest
  • Bring a light jacket, as it can be noticeably cooler in the valley and on the exposed Skyway
  • Children under four years of age go free
  • The circuit takes about one hour 15 minutes in total, so allow extra time either side for the café or gift shop
  • Bookings can be changed up to 48 hours before your visit, but not within that window
  • Weekday and weekend passes are priced differently, so check which ticket type applies to your visit date
