About this experience
This 3-day small group tour takes you from Glasgow into the heart of the Scottish Highlands, covering ground that would take days to piece together on your own. You'll pass Loch Lomond and the village of Luss before crossing the wide expanse of Rannoch Moor and walking through Glen Coe valley, with a stop by Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, along the way.
The second day is spent exploring the Isle of Skye, based in the harbour village of Portree. You can choose how to spend the day, whether that's touring Dunvegan Castle or Duntulm Castle, visiting the traditional blackhouses at Uig, or heading out to see The Storr. On the final day, the tour visits Eilean Donan Castle before continuing to Fort Augustus on the banks of Loch Ness and the Victorian town of Pitlochry, ending back in Edinburgh with a free train ticket provided for those returning to Glasgow.
With a small group setup and three days on the road, this tour balances long, scenic drives with regular stops for photos, castles and villages. Accommodation options range from no accommodation included to double, twin, family or single room stays, so you can shape the trip around your own travel plans.
What to expect
The tour begins in Glasgow and heads north past Loch Lomond, stopping in the lochside village of Luss before crossing Rannoch Moor and walking through Glen Coe valley. After a lunch stop and photo opportunity by Ben Nevis, the group continues on to Portree on the Isle of Skye, where the first day ends.
Day two is spent on Skye, with time to choose between visiting Dunvegan Castle, Duntulm Castle or the blackhouses at Uig, before heading to The Storr in the afternoon. On the third and final day, the tour calls at Eilean Donan Castle, stops for lunch in Fort Augustus overlooking Loch Ness, and passes through Pitlochry before arriving back in Edinburgh, where those who started in Glasgow are given a free train ticket home.
