2025年8月31日日曜日太平山はその昔は台湾三大林場のひとつとして、阿里山・八仙山と並んで台湾の檜林業の重要地でした。1982年に伐採事業が終了し、翌年（1983年）から森林遊楽区として観光・自然保護目的に転換された地域です。朝からバスでアクセスして、午後のバスで帰りました。日帰りでも十分満喫することができました。標高が高く、涼しかったのも嬉しかったです。
