Der West Lake Park ist ein angenehmer und ruhiger Ort zum Entspannen. Das üppige Grün wirkt beruhigend und die Luft ist außergewöhnlich frisch. Besucher können außerdem (mit Ticket) eine Bootsfahrt auf dem See unternehmen – ideal für einen gemütlichen Spaziergang.

Es liegt direkt neben einem Kunstmuseum und einem Museum; das Gelände ist recht groß und der Eintritt ist frei. Aufgrund von Wasserschutzmaßnahmen sind Fahrten mit Elektrobooten leider nicht möglich. Parkplätze sind in der Nähe vorhanden, und es ist nicht weit von Sanfang Qixiang (Drei Gassen und Sieben Alleen) entfernt, etwa 700 Meter.
