Der Flughafen befindet sich ein wenig im Outback von Java-Barat. Um nach Bandung zu reisen ist die Lage eher suboptimal, das war früher besser mit dem City-Airport. Ansonsten ein schöner Flughafen, sehr wenige Passagiere, alles sehr sauber, gut organisiert und genügend Taxis bei der Ankunft stehen zur Verfügung. Hoffentlich bringen weitere Entwicklungen in Zukunft mehr Betrieb.

Ein neuer Flughafen an der Nordküste Westjavas. Der Flughafen ist schön und weitläufig. Leider ist dieser internationale Flughafen noch recht ruhig. Es gibt nur wenige Linienflüge, die regelmäßig am Flughafen Kertajati starten oder landen. Die Lage des Flughafens ist strategisch günstig. Er ist direkt an die Trans-Java-Autobahn, einschließlich der Autobahnen Cipali und Cisumdawu, angebunden. Daher dauert die Fahrt von Bandung zum Flughafen über die Autobahn Cisumdawu selbst bei hohem Verkehrsaufkommen am Nachmittag nur etwa 1 Stunde und 50 Minuten. Von Cirebon aus erreicht man den Flughafen Kertajati nach einer Strecke von rund 53 km über die Autobahn Cipali in etwa 60 Minuten. Der Flughafen liegt außerdem in der Nähe des internationalen Hafens Patimban und verschiedener Öl- und Gasfördergebiete an der Nordküste Javas. Auch das Industriegebiet Majelengka wird in der Nähe entwickelt. Dieser Flughafen könnte auch als alternativer Flugpunkt für die Bewohner der Region Cimajayukuning sowie von Tegal, Banyumas, Bumiayu und Brebes dienen. Die Infrastruktur rund um den Flughafen ist gut ausgebaut. Neben mautpflichtigen Straßenverbindungen gibt es mehrere gute Hotels mit Sternebewertung. Außerdem befinden sich dort eine Quarantänestation für Landwirtschaft und Viehzucht, ein Zollamt, eine Einwanderungsbehörde und die Flughafenpolizei. Hoffentlich wird sich dieser hervorragende Flughafen bald weiterentwickeln und es werden mehr Linienflüge von und nach diesem Flughafen angeboten.

Ich fliege zum ersten Mal von diesem Flughafen. Es ist ruhig, aber nicht ganz so ruhig, da es mehrere internationale Flüge gibt. Es gibt einen Food Court, der indonesisches Essen zu erschwinglichen Preisen zum Frühstück anbietet. Die Einrichtungen sind immer noch gut und gepflegt. Es ist nicht so ruhig, wie man sagt.

Erfahrungen während des Hajj 2025 „Der Flughafen Kertajati ist komfortabel und sauber. Der Check-in verläuft schnell und es herrscht keine überfüllte Atmosphäre, was die Reise angenehm macht. Hoffentlich werden weitere Flugverbindungen angeboten, damit der Flughafen noch belebter und lebendiger wird.“
