Athens: Mosaics Workshop & Byzantine Walking Tour

You will start your day in the very center of Athens, where you will get to witness original mosaic motifs and patterns in Byzantine churches and get a sense of how the city has developed as a cross-section of cultures. You will then move to the loft studio for our mosaic workshop. You 'll have fun choosing your motif, experiencing materials like marble and smalti, and contrasting colors that compose a harmonious mosaic. With the guidance of an art historian and a mosaic craftsman, you will learn and practice the fundamentals of the ancient mosaic art and craft techniques. By the end of this workshop, you 'll have mastered your unique mosaic art piece to keep!
