You join an English-speaking guide for the 2-hour tour, meeting at the designated meeting point rather than going directly to the museum entrance, in a group of up to 25 people. Pre-reserved entry is included, so you pass the ticket queues, though security screening can still take up to 20 minutes in peak season. Once the guided portion ends, your ticket lets you stay on in the museum, but bear in mind that once you have left the wings and are back under the pyramid you cannot go back into the rooms.

The ticket is booked for a specific visit date and is valid on that date only; no timeslot is selected at booking. Meet your guide at the stated meeting point, not at the museum entrance, and arrive at least 15 minutes early. Any children joining must be booked onto the tour as participants. The guided tour runs for 2 hours, with many steps along the route.
