You drive yourself to the Mareeba Heritage Centre at 345 Byrnes St, Mareeba, where the crew meets you for a briefing before a flight of at least 40 minutes with interpretive commentary from your pilot. Departures run between roughly 4am and 5am, and on landing you toast the flight with the pilots over a glass of sparkling wine or juice. Your commemorative certificate and a digital photo package are both covered by this ticket, and the Civil Aviation Insurance Levy is included in what you pay.

This is a self-drive ticket only: you must have your own vehicle to reach the departure point at the Mareeba Heritage Centre, 345 Byrnes St, Mareeba, with departures between approximately 4am and 5am for your booked date and timeslot. Reconfirm once you arrive in Port Douglas to get the exact departure time. Children must be at least 4 years old to fly, and those aged 4 to 12 must be accompanied on the flight by a responsible adult; 13 to 17 year olds may fly alone but need a responsible adult with them for the rest of the tour. Children under 4 can come along but stay on the ground with one parent while the other flies, with the option of successive flights when available. Wear layered casual outdoor clothing and walking shoes, bring a hat and a camera, and avoid white clothing.
