Anping Old Fort

In 1624, when the Dutch ruled Taiwan, they built Fort Zeelandia in Anping, which is now known as Anping Fort.</p><p><img src="https://dimg04.tripcdn.com/images/0100p12000kh6fh45EC09_Z_1000_0.jpg"></p><p>After Zheng Chenggong expelled the Dutch, he converted the ancient castle into a city and renamed it "Anping Town City". After the Qing Dynasty came to power, it was changed into a military uniform bureau. In the tenth year of Tongzhi, the British army invaded and the ship's cannons hit the arsenal in the city, causing an explosion. The city wall was destroyed and turned into ruins.</p><p><img src="https://dimg04.tripcdn.com/images/0101k12000kh6fo6h76CF_Z_1000_0.jpg"></p><p>Although it has undergone many renovations and is no longer as magnificent as it once was, the rich historical materials it preserves and the cultural significance it represents make it still a place worth visiting.</p>
