Ka Ka
C'est un parcours difficile, avec de nombreux bunkers. Ces derniers sont vastes et profonds, ce qui rend la sortie compliquée ; il est donc essentiel de les éviter pour bien scorer. Les fairways sont larges et sûrs. Le parcours est plat, ce qui en fait l'un des plus faciles de Batam. Les caddies étaient souriants et de bon conseil. Les portions de nourriture étaient généreuses, quoique un peu salées. Cependant, les tarifs du golf sont tout à fait raisonnables pour Batam. Apparemment, les gros porteurs sont autorisés ; j'ai d'ailleurs aperçu un groupe de onze personnes. Heureusement que je ne les ai pas suivis, mais le golf devrait imposer des restrictions. Les installations étaient par ailleurs vétustes.
Chuck Park
C'est le parcours de golf le plus populaire de Batam. Le personnel de la réservation, de la réception, des caddies, des vestiaires, du café et du restaurant est aimable et serviable. Pour les joueurs seuls ou à deux, je recommande de commencer avant 7 h. Après 8 h, le parcours est bondé de groupes et de personnes arrivant par ferry de Singapour. J'imagine que c'est pareil pour les autres parcours de golf de Batam.

L'un des parcours de golf légendaires de Batam, situé à Nongsa, qui abrite également de nombreux hôtels et complexes hôteliers parmi les plus prestigieux de la ville, offre une vue imprenable sur le centre de Batam depuis les abords.
Fernando Tjia
Ce parcours s'appelait auparavant Tering Bay et n'avait pas une très bonne réputation. J'y ai joué récemment, j'ai constaté le changement de nom et j'ai appris qu'il était désormais géré par une nouvelle direction. Dans l'ensemble, j'ai été agréablement surpris par l'excellent entretien du site. Le fairway est correct et les greens sont bons. Le parcours est large mais aussi technique avec ses nombreux bunkers. Ils proposent également des voiturettes récentes moyennant un supplément (environ 100 000 roupies par personne) et j'ai aperçu quelques jeunes caddies.

Cela ressemble plus à un safari qu'à un parcours de golf. Chaque trou abrite des singes, des lézards et des poules. Il y a de nombreux bunkers et il y a un peu de vent.
