El Mount Merapi ha transformado el paisaje al norte de Yogyakarta con cada erupción, y esta aventura en jeep te lleva directamente al terreno que dejó a su paso. Viajando en un jeep descapotable equipado para todo terreno, cruzarás campos de lava, senderos rocosos y cruces de ríos que los vehículos convencionales simplemente no pueden sortear, con las laderas del volcán como telón de fondo constante.
La ruta conecta varios sitios moldeados por la historia del Merapi: el Makam Massal, la fosa común que conmemora a las víctimas de las erupciones; un pequeño museo de artefactos y fotografías volcánicas; la formación rocosa Batu Alien, con su peculiar forma; y el Bunker Kaliadem, un refugio que no pudo resistir la fuerza de la erupción de 2006. Qué esperar
El viaje comienza con la recogida en jeep y un primer tramo hacia Makam Massal, el sitio de la fosa común que honra a los fallecidos en las erupciones del Merapi, seguido de la visita al pequeño museo que alberga artefactos y fotografías volcánicas. Desde allí, el jeep continúa hacia Batu Alien para tomar fotos de la singular formación rocosa antes de dirigirse al Bunker Kaliadem, donde conocerás su papel como refugio fallido durante la erupción de 2006.
A continuación, la ruta cambia a su tramo más físico, un recorrido todoterreno a través de los campos de lava, senderos rocosos y cruces de ríos de Kalikuning, con muchas paradas para disfrutar del paisaje volcánico. La última parada es Petilasan Mbah Marijan, el monumento al difunto guardián espiritual del Merapi, antes de que el jeep regrese. Cosas a tener en cuenta
