What to expect
Bruny Island (BrunyIsland) is an island in southeastern Tasmania, separated from the main island of Tasmania by Jean Entrecasteaux Channel (D'EntrecasteauxChannel) and Storm Bay (StormBay). open. The areas outside the settlements on the island are pastures and large eucalyptus forests. The inland forests are being cut down, but much of the rest, especially the southeastern coastline, has been established and protected by South Bruny National Park. On the seaward side there are two long beaches, Adventure Bay and Cloud Bay. The diabase cliffs are over 200 meters above sea level and are one of the highest seaside cliffs in Australia. The side towards the bay is good for fishing and recreation for locals and tourists alike.
