Round-trip catamaran tour to Phi Phi & Maiton Islands with hotel transfer included
About this experience
This full-day catamaran trip from Phuket combines two of the Andaman Sea's best-known island stops with a beach club atmosphere on deck. You'll sail aboard a two-story, 75-foot luxury power catamaran fitted with daybeds, first heading toward Phi Phi Leh, where you transfer onto a traditional Thai longtail boat to reach Pileh Lagoon and the sands of Maya Bay. From there, the catamaran continues to Maiton Island, a quieter stretch of coastline known for its coral reefs and clear water, where you can snorkel, paddleboard or take a turn on the boat's inflatable water slide.
Onboard, the day is built around more than just island-hopping. A welcome drink and an international buffet lunch are served during the crossing, followed by afternoon tea later in the trip. As the catamaran heads back toward Phuket, the return leg turns into a sunset cruise, with a resident DJ, sound system and cocktail bar on deck.
The package departs from Coco Pier in Phuket and includes national park fees, snorkeling gear and an onboard photographer, so you can leave the camera behind and still come away with photos of Maya Bay's cliffs and Maiton's reef.
What to expect
The day starts with hotel pickup (if your ticket includes transfers) and transport to Coco Pier in Phuket, where you board the 75-foot catamaran between 9:00 and 18:00. The first stop is Phi Phi Leh, where you switch to a traditional longtail boat to explore the emerald waters of Pileh Lagoon and step onto Maya Bay's sand before returning to the catamaran for a buffet lunch as the boat cruises toward Maiton Island.
At Maiton, the pace shifts toward the water itself: snorkeling gear is provided for exploring the coral reef, and there's time for paddleboarding or a run down the inflatable water slide. Afternoon tea is served before the catamaran turns back toward Phuket, timing the return to coincide with sunset, when the deck's sound system and cocktail bar take over for the final stretch of the trip.
Things to note
- Wear swimwear under your clothes and bring a change of dry clothes for the boat ride back
- Pack reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses for full days spent on open water
- Bring a waterproof phone case or dry bag to protect electronics during water activities
- Motion sickness tablets are worth carrying if you're prone to seasickness on longer crossings
- Bring cash for any personal purchases, as onboard extras may not be covered by the ticket
- Check whether your ticket option includes round-trip hotel transfers before booking
